Being pretty much stuck at home for Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean it can’t be fun. Here are some ideas for celebrating Valentine’s Day (and the Night!) in Lockdown at Home…. and still making it special!

Plan a truly Romantic Lockdown Meal

What’s a good Valentine’s without a romantic meal?

  • Start the Day right with a Valentine’s Breakfast. Your partner will LOVE their favourite breakfast in bed (don’t forget the flowers!)
  • Have a look at local restaurants who may be offering chef-made meals straight to you door.
  • What’s more romantic than a fondu? Choose between a chocolate fondu with fruit, fudge and marshmallow skewers… or a cheese fondu with alllllllll the trimmings.

Go on a romantic walk

Make sure that your walk involves a cheeky stop where you can enjoy some fizz and chocolates too!!

Use your outdoor space

There may well be no better time to enjoy an evening under the stars than Valentine’s Day in Lockdown (ahem, weather permitting)? Wrap up cosy, get out some blankets and snuggle under the winter sky. Have you got a fire pit? Light it! Have a BBQ? Light it (they’re really not just for summer!). Pizza Ovens, camping stoves.. they’re all options. Toast some marshmallows, roast some chestnuts and sip on mulled wine. Nope, that’s not just for Christmas. If it’s possible, find some fairy lights to make it all twinkly and even more romantic.

Book local services well in advance

Many local businesses are still able to trade, including hot tub hire, home cinema hire, even home discos!

Get dressed up!

Just because it’s your household, you can still keep things special. Get out that little black dress…. dust off that tux. Tonight we party darrrrrrrling!!

Create a Home Spa Experience

Treat your partner or treat BOTH of you with an at-home spa experience. Candles, massages, and a hot bath sprinkled with rose petals or a bath bomb. Get out some fluffy dressing gowns, slippers and cucumbers for your eyes to finish the experience off.

Netflix and Chill

Not sure this needs any explaining. Just remember to get snacks…. all that Netflix and Chillin’ might give you an appetite 😉

Around the Home Bar Crawl

If you love a good Bar Crawl, then make each room in your home a different bar, with a different theme, different music…. and obviously different drinks! Decorations optional. Try Mojitos in the Cuban bar with dance floor, Sip a Long Island Iced Tea in the Sunset Lounge, then turn the disco lights on and sip vodka and cokes as you hit the clubs!

Plan some future romantic experiences

We may be in lockdown right now, but it wont last forever. Snuggle up on the sofa and browse holidays, days out and experiences. Plan some things to look forward to when life resumed to normality.
